{"id":2735,"date":"2013-01-31T21:33:31","date_gmt":"2013-02-01T03:33:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/?p=2735"},"modified":"2023-01-26T09:46:49","modified_gmt":"2023-01-26T15:46:49","slug":"monthly-goal-setting-for-the-chiropractic-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/monthly-goal-setting-for-the-chiropractic-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Monthly Goal Setting for the Chiropractic Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<dl id=\"attachment_2736\">\n<dd>Chiropractic Team Goal Setting<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<p><b>At the beginning of each month you want to see that your team sets new TEAM GOALS<\/b>.\u00a0 You can also set individual goals privately at a different time, but TEAM goals are most immediate and important.<\/p>\n<p><b>Each goal setting session always begins with a REVIEW of the past month<\/b>. This gives the opportunity for the group (or individual in individual goal setting) to explain how they did and how they did it. And it gives you the opportunity to listen and then give some feedback. The feedback could be praise, or otherwise.<\/p>\n<p><b>After the review, set the goals<\/b>.\u00a0\u00a0 Group goals should be simple, usually just <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Office Visits<\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">New Patients<\/span>, though <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Collections<\/span> can also be included. IMPORTANT: Let the group set the goals. You should negotiate the goals, but it has to be theirs.\u00a0 Once these goals are set, ask the group (or individual) how they\/we plan to achieve these goals? Get at least 3 action steps.<\/p>\n<p><b>The last goal should include a \u201cgreater purpose\u201d goal or two<\/b>. This could be a party at your house next Thursday night, Betty, the Front Desk Coordinator will give a book report on one of the books in the Lending Library at next month\u2019s Team Goal Setting meeting, and a check to see who is going to volunteer for working at the food bank next Saturday evening.<\/p>\n<p><b>Why?<\/b> You should also spend some time discussing <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">why<\/span> you have these goals. This takes you back to your MISSION.\u00a0 Numbers for numbers sake is a soulless and goalless pursuit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0In sum:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\"1\">\n<li>Review last month\u2019s numbers. Were they up or down from the prior month? \u00a0Ask.<\/li>\n<li>Then, ask why? Get the team to figure it out. Let it be a brainstorming session if possible.<\/li>\n<li>Let them tell you and you listen and question as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Acknowledge.
