That is what you wanted. That was good.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/docEE-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2051\" title=\"docEE-1\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/docEE-1.jpg\" width=\"315\" height=\"109\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/docEE-1.jpg 315w, https:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/docEE-1-300x103.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 315px) 100vw, 315px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>But as your practice grew, your role of \u201cEverything Else\u201d <\/strong><strong><\/strong><strong>also got busier.<\/strong> This was a distraction from your role of doctor, so you delegated front desk, billing and therapy duties. You still kept the role of \u201cEverything Else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/docandEE.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2052\" title=\"docandEE\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/docandEE.jpg\" width=\"459\" height=\"152\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/docandEE.jpg 523w, https:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/docandEE-300x99.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 459px) 100vw, 459px\" \/><\/a><strong>As your practice continued to grow with more staff<\/strong> &#8211; your role of \u201cEverything Else\u201d expanded geometrically.\u00a0 This concerned you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You didn\u2019t think about it much<\/strong> because you enjoyed being a chiropractor and loved your patients, but when you were very busy, you made more money. You could take a vacation with your family, put money aside for your kid\u2019s education, and pay off debts.\u00a0 Sometimes, you could see yourself producing even more, helping more people, and being even more prosperous.<\/p>\n<p><strong>These dreams didn\u2019t last long.<\/strong> Your role of \u201cEverything Else\u201d became more demanding.\u00a0 There were more \u201ceverything else\u2019s\u201d crying for attention.\u00a0 There was too much to do and soon you saw your patient volume dropping. Patients were dropping out of care and new patients became scarce. You had lost control.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/EEspread.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2065\" title=\"EEspread\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/EEspread.jpg\" width=\"463\" height=\"345\" \/><\/a><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Other doctors who were experiencing lowered income<\/strong> blamed insurance companies. Or the economy. Or the modern culture.\u00a0 All you knew was that it wasn\u2019t fun anymore and there was just too much work to do. Work that wasn\u2019t chiropractic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The fact is, you were never too sure of this role of \u201cEverything Else\u201d<\/strong> and never really liked it all that much. You didn\u2019t have any training in it like you did as a doctor.\u00a0 And when all of the \u201ceverything else\u2019s\u201d starting coming at you, you felt like things were getting beyond your command.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You experienced some staff turnover<\/strong> and now with patient volume down, you didn\u2019t need as many staff. Gradually there was less to do in your role of \u201cEverything Else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>This cycle may have occurred to you a few times:<\/strong> numbers up, then more stress, then back down. A roller coaster.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0 <strong>MONTHLY OFFICE VISITS<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/rollercoaster.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2050\" title=\"rollercoaster\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/rollercoaster.jpg\" width=\"520\" height=\"245\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/rollercoaster.jpg 520w, https:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/rollercoaster-300x141.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 520px) 100vw, 520px\" \/><\/a><strong>And here is where you may be now.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>If you were to add up the amount of revenue you <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">could have made<\/span><\/strong> had you stayed at your highest level, or been able to go even higher were it not for your role of \u201cEverything Else\u201d, you might be surprised how much this \u201cEverything Else\u201d role cost you. Hundreds of thousands of dollars.<\/p>\n<p>= = = = = =\u00a0 =<\/p>\n<p><strong>If this is your story so far, don\u2019t go away.<\/strong> The last chapter hasn\u2019t been written. In fact, your next one might be completely different. These skills have to do with leadership, management, and marketing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>So you learn these skills and get coached on them.<\/strong>\u00a0 In time, you get better and better at applying them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You find a staff member and give her the role of chiropractic office manager.<\/strong> You get her continuously trained and give her lots of your less important CEO duties. As she gets better, you give her more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You get someone to help you coordinate all the marketing.<\/strong> You give him continuous training.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>You have staff meetings<\/strong> and get the team on board with managing the office.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/docasceo-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2060\" title=\"docasceo-2\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/docasceo-2.jpg\" width=\"512\" height=\"318\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/docasceo-2.jpg 589w, https:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/docasceo-2-300x186.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>All the &#8220;everything else&#8217;s&#8221;<\/strong> are organized into systematized procedures and delegated to your team.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/CEEO.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2079\" title=\"CEEO\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/pmaworks.com\/observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/CEEO.jpg\" width=\"531\" height=\"401\" \/><\/a><strong>Numbers go up.<\/strong> Your team continues to improve. They are happy about this as they are sharing in the management of the office and its success. Now that all the &#8220;everything elses&#8221; are packaged up into nice neat systems, you have time to focus more on patient care, future planning,\u00a0 personal studies, and other pursuits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You are now a better leader, better manager, and a better marketer,<\/strong> and your business continues to grow.
